Histamines are the substance releases by our body when our body get suffer from an allergic reaction. These histamines bind with several receptors present in our body and it results in allergic symptoms to our body. To treat this allergic condition caused by Histamines we use antihistaminic drugs.
These antihistaminic drugs are falls under OTC (Over the counter) medication and can easily available without any prescription.

Dizziness, Drowsiness, Nausea, vomiting, Dry mouth, confusion, blurring of vision, not being able to pee, restlessness.
Types of antihistaminic drugs
First generation antihistamines are old H1-antihistamines. They have more side effects as compared to drugs belongs to other generations of antihistamines. Examples chloropyramine, Antazoline, Doxylamine etc.
Second generation antihistamines are new H1-antihistamines. Examples Cetirizine, Loratadine, Terfenadine, Quifenadine etc.
These are drugs belongs to newer H1-antihistamines with combination of both the properties of first generation and second generation antihistaminic drugs. They have less side effects as compare to second generation antihistaminic drugs.
They are the newer drugs of antihistaminic groups with very less side effects and more efficient as compare to other generations drugs like first generation, second generation and third generation antihistaminic drugs. Examples- Levocetirizine.
These antihistaminic drugs are easily available on pharmacies in India. As we have many manufacturers who involved in manufacturing of such types of general medicines. Like Affy group, they are the manufacturer of general tablets in India.
